We sure don't have to tell you how fast time flies as we grow older.
It's been a year of joy and blessings, tragedy and sorrow, renewal of old friendships and the creation of new ones.
This year held all the ingredients for an epic movie and yet you'll have to be content with this newsletter.
It seems like we just moved to this wonderful part of the world and bought our first home.

For the first time in our married lives we have felt a glimpse of what “stability” must be like...And wouldn't you know it; it is already time to start preparing for the next adventure.
But more about that later...
It seems that it is tradition in these Christmas letters to detail a few of the highlights each member of the family has had over the past year. We have so enjoyed reading the highlights of your lives in your Christmas letters, so in that light we will not disappoint.
Andy is now officially a Major-select, meaning he will pin on the rank of Major some indeterminable time in the future. We are very much looking forward to that.
As you may have heard, the F15's have been grounded. Since it has been on the news, you probably know as much about it as we do. Our pilots are going stir crazy not flying but many of them have been using this time to get in some awesome skiing and snowboarding. Andy has been able to exercise his leadership skills as a Flight Commander this year and he was recognized with the "Company Grade Officer" of the quarter award. This year his duties took him away from home more than not, and although we cannot share the details of those duties, if we could, you would be proud.

Sherry has been busy steadily building her little art business MadMadPotter.Com and this year she has taken on a new facet of her business through tatting, (no...not the ink we see on so many bodies these days...)
Tatting is the art of lace making and it has been a hobby of hers since she was a young girl. She started with making the world's only ceramic tatting shuttles, then she started designing her own original tatting patterns and now she blogs and sells her shuttles, hand dyed threads, and patterns, all in addition to her pottery business.
In November she published her first tatting book and it has been well received by the tatting community.

She is nearly 2/3rds of the way in completing a three part course to becoming a Master Tatter. She also won a few ribbons at the Idaho State Fair including a "Best in Show".
As a couple we are enjoying every precious moment we can spend together. After 11 1/2 years of marriage we are still BEST friends. We enjoy our furry kids and we are learning a lot about ourselves and each other through our many home improvement projects.

We are going to be very sad to leave this little sancturary that we just got settled into. Which leads us to the next thing.
We are moving to South Korea in the next few months for one year and then after that it's ?????
We are excited for the many new opportunities and adventures that lie ahead and we are sad to leave friends and family behind...so it is bittersweet.
This blog space will be dedicated to our adventures, so bookmark this page if you would like to share our Korean adventure and keep up with our happenings.
Our parting wish for you is this:
May God bless you abundantly this holiday season and may next year be full of joy and wonderment!

Thanks for the update! Sounds like you've had a good year. We wish you the best in your new adventure to Korea. Chris and I had some really good times when he was there, although I hear things are a little different now. I'm sure you have been enjoying all the snow that Bogus has been getting...Chris has been checking online and wishes he was there. Take care and all the best in the new year! Sorry I'm so behind on reading my e-mails and thus your newsletter. We missed not seeing you and Andy when you were home for Christmas, but we did see a terrific picture of the whole J.Pence family! Congrats to both of you on your accomplishments! Korea...how exciting! We will continue to remember you in our prayers throughout the next year. Love you - Uncle Shannon and Aunt Robyn
Thanks so much, Andy & Sherry, for your e-mail and blog. We thank the good Lord for your safe arrival
and pray you will enjoy the year as
much as you can. We look forward to your messages. Grace and I are resting in San Diego now, getting ready for that big trip to Seattle and Kona. Love, Grandpa D. & Grace
You two not only have talent as professional snowboarders, but also as creative writers. Your blog about the "Potentia" is well written with much wit. You should keep a daily diary and write a book when you return from your year in Korea. Keep the blogggggs coming, we sure enjoy them. Love, Grandpa D. and Grace
